About Mazzeo Lawyers

Mazzeo Lawyers is a Melbourne litigation practice acting for individuals, families and businesses in complex disputes. We help clients navigate matters with significant financial, personal and commercial consequences, bringing careful judgement to decisions that are rarely straightforward.

We build genuine relationships and provide advice you can trust. That commitment shapes both the work we undertake and the way we look after our clients.

Our work centres on property and business disputes, family law property settlements, and contested wills and estates. Across these areas, we take the time to understand the circumstances behind the dispute and what its outcome could mean for you.

Our Principal

The experience behind the firm

Our Principal, Nick Mazzeo, began practising law in 1994. After becoming a partner in an established firm in 2000, he later founded Mazzeo Lawyers with a commitment to ethical practice, practical advice and lasting client relationships.

His experience spans commercial, property, family and other complex disputes, including highly sensitive matters. That background continues to inform the firm’s approach to assessing problems and helping clients make considered decisions.

Much of our work comes through recommendations from existing clients, barristers, other lawyers and professional advisers. Those relationships have developed through years of working together and reflect the importance we place on the quality of our advice and the way we conduct ourselves.

a hands-on practice

Personal attention. Commercial perspective.

We act for individuals, families, business owners and companies, bringing the same level of attention and considered advice to each matter. Our structure allows experienced lawyers to remain closely involved, while our work across both personal and commercial matters gives us a broader perspective when the two intersect.

Direct involvement

The lawyers responsible for your matter remain directly involved in the advice, strategy and communication throughout.

A proportionate approach

We consider cost, time and practical consequences alongside the legal position when advising on the appropriate way forward.

Our values

Experience and values

Experience in complex disputes

Difficult matters call for careful assessment and sound judgement. We bring experience across connected areas of litigation, allowing us to consider the issues that may affect your position and identify where further investigation or a different course of action may be needed.

Integrity in our advice

Honest advice includes discussing risks and limitations, even when the answer is difficult to hear. We take our responsibility to you seriously and explain the considerations that may influence whether a course of action is appropriate, proportionate and worth pursuing.

Relationships built on trust

Trust develops through the way people are treated over time. We value direct communication, careful listening and an understanding of each client’s circumstances. Our aim is for you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that your concerns are being taken seriously.

Working with Mazzeo Lawyers

What makes us different

Understanding the whole dispute

A legal issue rarely exists in isolation. A separation may involve a family business, a trust and jointly owned property. An estate dispute may raise questions about a company or an earlier commercial arrangement.

Our experience across these areas helps us recognise the connections and consider how a decision in one part of a matter could affect another. We look at the wider circumstances so our advice reflects the situation you are actually facing.

Advice grounded in practical judgement

The available legal options are only part of a decision. The likely cost, time, uncertainty and effect on important relationships also deserve consideration.

We help you weigh those factors and work towards a resolution that reflects your circumstances and priorities. Whether that involves negotiation, mediation or court proceedings, our advice gives you a clear basis for deciding what to do next.
